A year ago we set out to transform Pittsburgh into a city worth living in for young people, and it has been such an amazing journey.

We love this city and believe in Pittsburgh's potential. Every time you show up to an event, welcome a newcomer, or step outside your comfort zone, you're helping us prove that Pittsburgh can be an incredible place for young adults to thrive.

OUR MISSION TO REVITALIZE SOCIAL CLUBS

The idea of a social club is far from new. Since the 18th and 19th centuries, people have gathered in guilds, societies, coffeehouses, and gentlemen’s clubs, a way of creating community around shared interests. But in recent years, the concept of the social club has faded.

In 1974, 75% of Americans were involved in some type of social club. As sociologist Robert Putnam noted in Bowling Alone, civic engagement and social capital reached their peak in the 1950s–70s but have been steadily declining since.

That decline has left a gap. Today, many people in their 20s and 30s are seeking genuine connection but often don’t know where to find it. That’s where PGH Social Club comes in. We exist to give young adults a place to connect, grow, and thrive. Reviving the tradition of the social club means reviving human connection and community—that’s our mission.

CALLING ALL PITTSBURGH BAR CONNOISSEURS

PGH Social Club is on the lookout for underrated bars in the Pittsburgh area to feature in our Hidden Gem Series! We’re excited to bring our community more tailgates, pregames, and matchbox-style events. This series will spotlight the best local bars that make Pittsburgh unique while also bringing people together and creating real connections.
